Togo: Faure Gnassingbé appoints new ministers in government shuffle

On September 8, 2023, the President of the Republic of Togo, Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé issued a decree announcing new appointments within the government. Several new ministers are joining the executive branch, while others are changing their portfolios.

Now, Ministers Yark Damehame and Kodjo Adedzé have been elevated to the rank of Minister of State: General Yark Damehame now serves as the Minister of Water and Village Hydraulics, and Kodjo Adedzé takes on the Ministry of Urban Planning, Housing, and Land Reform. Additionally, the former Minister of Investment Promotion, Kayi Mivedor, assumes the role of Minister of Commerce, Crafts, and Local Consumption.

Among the ousted ministers, notable departures include Minister of State Payadowa Boukpessi and Professor Akodah Ayewouadan.
