Kick-off of the 2nd edition of AFIS in Togo

The second annual summit of the Africa financial industry summit (AFIS) officially opened this Monday, November 28 in Lomé in the capital of Togo.

The summit organized face-to-face for the first time, was launched by the Togolese Head of State, Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé, in the presence of an audience of officials and distinguished personalities, finance ministers, governors and presidents of banks and international financial institutions, among others.

During these two days of conferences, workshops and round tables, leaders from public and private sectors, mostly from the continent, will try to contribute to the economic recovery of the continent, by transforming “the great potential of Africa” in “reality”.

“The holding of this summit comes at a pivotal moment for Africa,” the Vice-President Africa of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), Sergio Pimenta, said in his speech.

While opening the proceedings, Faure Gnassingbé recalled the importance and the need for collaboration between public authorities and the private sector: “Together, we will be able to revolutionize the African finance sector”.
