The Togolese ministry of foreign affairs has launched “Agenda estival pour la diaspora”, a program intended for Togolese Abroad on vacation in Lomé for this year 2021, and runs from July to September.
In details, it will be about presenting in detail the one-stop shop of the Diaspora, and making the Togolese of the diaspora known in their municipalities so that they can participate to the development efforts of their respective localities.
It will also be a matter of offering administrative and technical assistance to project leaders, through dedicated Days.
The approach is part of the actions carried out by the Executive to involve Togolese citizens living abroad more in the country’s development process.
As a reminder, the country launched few weeks ago a similar program, named “ le Guichet pour les Togolais de l’Extérieur”, (The Counter for Togolese Abroad ).
According to the government, the contribution of the Togolese diaspora to the national economy remains considerable.
In 2020, despite the pandemic, Togolese Abroad transferred $ 441 million to the Motherland.
